The Namibia is a harsh place to live, but somehow life flourishes. Bordered by the sea, moisture somehow can be found by those who have the skills and the determination to seek it out. From taking advantage of the morning dew to getting indirect help from a giant neighbor, the inhabitants of this desert are able to make ends meet.
At a small freshwater spring, an unusual inhabitant has big plans. Trixie is a meerkat, but she is unusual in terms of her fur. White is a color that is considered beautiful on a wild animal, but there is a huge price to be paid. The color of most animals serve to camouflage them, critical for the hunters and the hunted. To stand out is to risk certain death.
It seems that Trixie is one of the lucky ones, she is about two years old and is in good shape. But a single pair meerkats will seldom last long without the help of others. Trixie may be a fortunate meerkat, but if she wants to thrive then she and her brother will need to find other members of their speces, especially an unrelated male who would be her mate.
Unknown to Trixie, however, she may get her wish in the form of a small party of meerkats who are going to be released in her area. Can a Namibia meerkat with odd fur make an empire with a few foreign meerkats and a small spring?
